Athletics
Fisher Island Day School develops mind, body, and spirit. In addition to daily physical education and twice-daily recess, the FIDS athletic program strives to develop confident, enthusiastic, and disciplined athletes who utilize their full physical potentials and learn the value of teamwork and the importance of sportsmanship.
Fisher Island Day School recognizes that athletic programs play a vital role in the education of all students. Through their participation in interscholastic athletics, students are provided character-building opportunities to demonstrate honesty, integrity, respect, caring for others, cooperation, trustworthiness, leadership, tolerance, and personal responsibility. These fundamental values enable participants to realize and fulfill their potential as students, as athletes, as individuals, and as citizens.
By harnessing the sports venues on Fisher Island and partnering with community-based youth sports organizations, FIDS is able to offer competitive sports on par with those offered at much larger schools. Fisher Island Day School athletes have use of the island’s 17 tennis courts, nine-hole golf course, and the multi-acre Vanderbilt Park to hone their athletic specialties. Sports teams include, but are not limited to:

Participation in FIDS Athletics provides the opportunity for middle schoolers to play competitively against teams from Belen Jesuit, Gulliver Prep, Palmer-Trinity, R.A.S.G. Hebrew Academy, Ransom Everglades, and Westminster Christian.
